As some of you may not be aware I am a fully qualified GM master technician so I thought I'd clear up some information regarding the intellilink updates.
First off GM have released updates from K chassis onwards (That's MY15 onwards to me and you) for the Intellilink, I tested the install myself tonight. Your local dealer however will know nothing about this yet since there has been no Channel 21 update yet;Opel insignia intellilink software update
What I can confirm however (to many people's disappointment) there is no new features in the update, purely bugfixes. There is however some interesting potential in the file structure on this update:Intellilink
But as much as Vauxhall deny, retrofitting a V4.0 Intellilink unit is ENTIRELY possible. The unit will cost around £900 to purchase from the parts department and will require somebody with SPS programming capabilities (dealer-only software/hardware). The only problem is giving Vauxhall a genuine reason for requiring a VCI number for retrofitting (very difficult to convince them to grant you access to the number, this is VIN dependant).
